The AT&T model 2440 is a wired
full-duplex speakerphone paired with a wireless handset; and you can add up to
three more wireless handsets, for a four-phone system. Only the base needs a
phone jack -- the extra handsets just need electricity for their charging
cradles. There's a keypad in the base for hands free dialing. The base has an
internal antenna, and looks super-cool.
Each handset has a speakerphone and a headset jack, plus a software-enhanced
illuminated display, for Caller ID with Call Waiting.
Radio transmission is 2.4GHz, Frequency Hopping Digital Spread Spectrum for
highest security against eavesdropping. Phone company voice mail indicator on
base and handsets. Spare battery charger. Power failure operation. 50 name and
number speed dialing directory. 50 name and number Caller ID memory.
Last-four-number redial. 4-way conferencing. Call transferring with call
announcing. Two-way paging and intercom. Six ringer melodies. Do-not-disturb.
Any key answer. Belt clip on handset. Color is metallic charcoal.
