The KX-TG2500B utilizes 2.4 GHz combined with Spread Spectrum Technology (SST) for longer range and clearer sound than ever thought possible in a cordless phone. This hybrid design uses 2.4 GHz on the base unit and 900 MHz on the handset for longer range and clear sound, eliminating most of the echo, cross-talk and interference usually experienced on cordless phones. Rather than staying on a single frequency, SST cordless phones "spread" your conversation over many frequencies during use, making it highly unlikely your calls can be monitored. Range is greatly enhanced as well, due to the multiplier effect SST has on transmitted power.
By using two antennas on the base, one for transmitting and the other for receiving, this design helps eliminate echo and delay common in other cordless phones duplex transmission design. Special construction and rubberized trim helps the KX-TG2500B stand up better to everyday wear and tear and the occasional droppings cordless phones typically endure. Plus, a headset jack allows connection to headphones equipped with 2.5 mm connection jack for conversations on the go or while working at your computer, cooking dinner, etc.
